Eight Cubans on a raft has taken ashore on the Florida Keys in the southern United States, the latest of a wave of people trying to flee from Cuba, according to US authorities, TT reports.

Over 2200 Cubans have fled by boat to the United States since October 2015. Which is an increase compared to the year before.

The US has a policy that those Cubans who make it to the US get to stay permanently, and many Cubans now fear that this will change when the relations between Washington and Havana gets better.
