Three bomb blasts hit the German football club, Borussia Dortmund's team bus yesterday when they were on their way to play against AS Monaco in the Champion's league, injuring spanish football star, Marc Bartra.
Police now believes the attack is linked to Islamic terrorism, since a message letter was left behind, written in German: "In the name of Allah".
In the letter, the unnamed writer also hails an ISIS-inspired truck attack on a German Christmas market that killed 12 revellers.
The bombs exploded when the bus just left L'Arrivee Hotel and Spa.
- After the blast we all ducked into the bus and those who could lay down on the floor, the Borussia Dortmund goal keeper, Roman Buerki told Swiss news website, Blick.
One of the players, Marc Bartra, underwent surgery during the night. He was said to have broken a bone in the wrist, in connection with the incident and the surgeons had to remove broken glass from his body.
A police officer who escorted the players were also injured in the attack. He is reported to have suffered hearing loss and is shocked by the incident.
