Villagers in the Romanian village of Glod, are often reminded about the man they feel trolled them, big time! And they are furious with him, at least said, which this BBC documentary shows when journalists came to visit and asked questions about Borat.
"We'll kill him if he comes again". "He lied to us". "Borat filmed us completely wrongly". "He made fun of our village". "Borat should be locked up", says some of the people in the village.
The making of the movie Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, took not place in Kazakhstan, but in fact in a small village in Romania among the Roma population, starring British actor and comedian Sacha Baron Cohen as the fake Kazakh journalist Borat Sagdiyev, who is said to be the "son of Asimbala Sagdiyev and Boltok the Rapist".
By seeing the movie on a TV-screen in a local village bar and themselves as participants in it, they start to shout things like: "That's not Kazakhstan - Idiots!". One woman recognized a villager participating in the movie and said; "They showed Spiri [Mukthar Sahanov] as an abortionist".
Spiri himself, says he is offended by 'Borat', that he is been portrayed as an abortionist and a criminal.
"That's what bothers me the most", he tells BBC journalists.
