Swedish Court upholds Assange arrest warrant

A Stockholm district court has maintained a European arrest warrant against WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange over a 2010 rape allegation, The Local reports.

The decision rejected Assange's lawyers' request to hold another court hearing to have the arrest warrant lifted. But "the court considers that Julian Assange is still suspected of 2 cases of rape... and that there is still a risk that he will abscond or evade justice," according to a statement on Wednesday.
