Researchers have found evidence that people smoked Marijuana already in the Stone Age.
New evidence is said to prove, that using cannabis and other drugs goes further back in time than previously thought, according to The Times.
Archaeological studies suggest that people in Asia and Europe discovered the plant about 10 000 years ago, and may even have been used before alcohol that people drank for the first time about 7000 years ago according to earlier studies.
Researchers believe that people appreciated the plant, not only for its psychoactive properties, but also because its seeds could suppress hunger and alleviate pain. And to plant leaves could easily be woven into "fabric" and clothing.
