Remember this guy? He was an Internet smash hit on Youtube a couple of years ago with this video, where he taught on how to dance disco.

The video became so popular in social media, that Diesel decided to make a commercial video out of it, adding some hilarious breakdance moves.

But what is the real story behind this video and this cool Finnish “disco guy”? What happened after the success on Youtube?

Well, sadly he passed away in 2013. But his name was Åke Blomqvist, and he was a famous Finnish dance instructor in Finland, who held dancing lessons on broadcast television during the seventies and the eighties on Saturday evenings.

The video that became a smashing hit in 2006, was actually from 1980, where Blomqvist dances to the the tunes of another smashing disco hit song on Youtube those years, Moskau by German pop group Dschinghis Khan.

But couple of years after the Youtube success, he made a short comeback with this video in Finnish media.
